ICT (Information and Communications Technology) is a well-resourced and researched area at
Diamond Creek Primary School. The ICT program encompasses the Digital Technologies Curriculum
where students become confident and creative developers of digital solutions through the
incorporation and further development of their thinking and problem-solving skills. In the Design
and Technology area students put their knowledge into practice by investigating, generating and
refining ideas, planning and managing these ideas and producing and evaluating their designs.
Our ICT program at each level is engaging, challenging and thought provoking. Some of the tools
used at Diamond Creek Primary School include:
Interactive Whiteboards and TV’s
A learning tool used in all classrooms where students are visually stimulated and engaged through
the touch screen. Our Interactive Whiteboards are coupled with Apple TV’s and other devises, so
that students can easily and quite naturally share their work.
iPads
Students in Foundation to Grade 2 have access to a specific set of apps with a class bank of iPads
which accompany and are integrated into the learning experiences in all curriculum areas. In Grades
5 and 6 we have a 1:1 iPad program where students use their own iPad as a tool for learning and as a
devise for storage of their work, becoming a personal electronic learning log or portfolio of work
samples.
