At Diamond Creek Primary School we have a continuing commitment to the achievement of excellence, fostering a learning environment that values, supports and engages students. This is demonstrated by;

  • Opportunites for students to actively participate in programs that develop their well-being, confidence, organisational and social skills. The core program, You Can Do It runs from P-6 and it augmented in the senior years by Rookies, peer mediation and a variety of leadership programs such as Kids Conference and Thinkfest
  • Individual Learning Programs for identified at risk and high achieving students
  • Support programs such as Reading Recovery and Literacy Support, instrumental music, camping program, Perceptual Motor program with preps and pre-schoolers, whole school swimming program, interschool sport, annual concert, choir and Gateways.
  • LOTE - Italian is taught at all grade levels
  • A specialist Science program which runs for all students from grade 2-6. There is a strong middle years environmental program and we are part of both the SIT and ASISTM programs.
  • Strong emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy with clear strategies to improve student performance
  • Developing inquiry learning units or Throughlines to challenge and engage students to develop deep understandings.
  • Thinking Skills sequential program embedded in all areas of the curriculum from P-6.
  • Seeking student and parent feedback for continuous improvement of teaching and learning programs

Students learn best when they are healthy, happy and safe. At Diamond Creek Primary School, we believe positive relationships and an environment that is encouraging, productive and supportive will contribute to improved student learning outcomes.
